#1)Nader is in the race... Freekin awesome...i was watching FoxNews... or maybe it was CNN...or MSN... i digress...anywho.. it said the DNC and it's registered followers were begging Nader not to run... That would be enough of a reason for me to run... We all know Nader won't win... but what he will do is give voters another option... When this country was founded we had a variety of potitical parties to choose from... this bi-partisan system we have has fostered corruption, lies, and the disenfranchising of the electorate...(and no, simply mentioning 'electorate' does not make me a marxist...) i welcome Nader, not with the tongue-in-cheek that the republicans do, but whole heartedly... he may very well get my vote... if for no other reason than to send a message... i am tired of trying to decide which twin-brother-from-different-mothers is the least likely to betray my trust and my vote...
#2) at what point did we as Americans decide it was better for the state to think for us? no, seriously, when was that? was i asleep? was i even born? i'm f*ckin' pissed the f*uck off about the country's latest battle... Gay marriage... when did it matter what two men or women did in the privacy of their own home? this is a religious issue, not a political issue... it's the same with abortion... apparently gay men and women need to be saved from themselves... is that the governments job? save me from myself? so, if i have no drive, no ambition, and decide not to work, ever, that would mean, as a measure of assistance, i should get a fat job with a fat check and pad, right? or at least welfare, right? these 'conservative' assholes, yes assholes, that fight so passionately about gay marriage and abortion, are the same f*ckers that believe that the government should quit rescuing people from themselves when it comes to welfare, crime, etc. it seems hypocrisy reigns supreme... i'm of the ilk that the government so be there to protect the rights of the minority... not the religious beliefs of the majority (reactionary right-wingers)...
#3) i have found myself seeing the world in an increasingly different light since my younger years (teens)... as a 28 year old, having recently returned from living abroad, the world is a global entity that few Americans seem to understand, or even know exists... with that being said, i find myself looking at my past views and shaking my head... i was so blindly following that i never asked where we, as republicans, were going... i see my brothers, so saturated with republican ideology, and wonder when i stopped...my view used to be the same... in line with my parents views... i guess in living on my own, away from familial influences has given way to my true idea's and beliefs... i’m no longer a republican… i’m not a democrat…i don’t belive in either party… i belive in people… i don’t believe in welfae state… i do believe we should foster a community that willingly helps the tired, huddled masses… i believe that the government should not pervasive… i don’t believe that the majority ever has the right to rule over the minority… we need to appreciate each other, warts and all… anyways…that’s it…i’ll be back a little later this week…
